The Mayans apparently predicted that the world will end on 21st December 2012. Despite plenty of research from scholars and academics, no-one has been able to back up this predication – but even so, this got us thinking. What would we eat if it was really the end of the world? (Or even if it wasn't?!) What would we eat if it was our last chance to enjoy our favourite meal? Or even our last chance to enjoy whatever we fancied? Would we go for crispy yet moist burgers? Soft chocolate cake? A pitcher of pina colada? We've got these recipes and more below!

The Mayan "phenomenon" suggests that the world as we know it will end on December 21, 2012 – as the Mayan calendar ends on that date. However, numerous scholars suggest that predictions of doom are not actually found in any classic Maya account, and the idea that the calendar ends on December 21 is actually a misrepresentation of Mayan culture.

Despite academics and scholars denying that anything catastrophic will happen to our planet in 2012, many people still believe the hype surrounding the subject. So we got thinking – what would we do if it was our last day on the planet? Where would we go? Who would we see? And more importantly, what would we eat?!
