Runner beans are cooked in oil, garlic and plenty of allspice in this surprisingly tasty side dish. Serve with a big chicken stir fry and some steamed rice.
- 500g runner beans, trimmed and sliced
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 dstsp. allspice
- 110ml water
- Salt and black pepper
Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the garlic. Cook gently until lightly golden, then add the beans, water, allspice and seasoning.
Stir well to combine, cover, then simmer for 10 minutes or until the beans are tender.
