Baked Buttery Prawns recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Prawns are baked in a sauce made with butter, garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice and parsley in this recipe. You can prepare everything in advance, making it perfect for a dinner party. Serve with warm crusty bread to mop up all the delicious juices.


  • 250g butter
  • 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Small handful freshly chopped parsley
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1kg medium prawns, peeled, deveined and cleaned


  1. Preheat the oven to 200C. Mince the garlic cloves.

  2. In a saucepan, combine the butter, mustard, lemon juice, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper. Melt over a medium heat. When the butter has melted, take the pan off the heat.

  3. Spread the prawns out in a baking dish. Cover with the buttery sauce and bake for 10-12 minutes until the prawns turn pink and opaque.

Use chives or coriander in the sauce in place of the parsley if you'd prefer. Recipe serves 6.
