A super simple pudding recipe that takes only five minutes to prepare, these baked orange pears are packed with flavour. Serve them with hot custard or ice cold vanilla ice cream for a sweet treat, and if you like, switch the marmalade for jam.
- 2 medium sweet pears, cored (create a dip in the stalk end of the fruit too so that you can stuff the pears all of the way up)
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp. orange marmalade
Preheat the oven to 180C and place the pear halves into a baking dish so that they are cut side up.
Dot the butter over the pears and sprinkle with lemon juice. Scatter with brown sugar and cinnamon and then dollop with marmalade.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pear flesh is soft and tender. If the pear is uneven and you find the stuffing falling out before you cook it, line the tray with foil and slice the bottom round edge off of the pear to even it out.
