Mushrooms are fried off with onions, garlic, balsamic vinegar and white wine in this easy saute. Serve with fillet or BBQ steak or fish for a delicious side dish.
- 500g mushrooms
- 1 red onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 3 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- 3 tbsp. white wine
- Salt and black pepper
Thinly slice the onion, mushrooms and garlic cloves. Heat oil in a large frying pan.
Add the onion to the pan, stir and fry off for 5-10 minutes or until golden brown and caramelised. Add the garlic and fry off for a minute or two, then stir in the mushrooms. Fry for 3-5 minutes or until softened and cooked through.
Add the balsamic and wine and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the liquid has nearly cooked away. Season to taste and serve hot.
