Balsamic Strawberry Jam recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Just 4 ingredients combine to make this delicious strawberry jam flavoured with balsamic richness for a hint of slightly sour sweetness. Serve with pancakes or over ice cream for a tasty pud.

Ingredients

  • 500g strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 400g sugar
  • 125ml good quality balsamic vinegar
  • Thyme sprigs

Directions

  1. Bring sugar and vinegar to the boil and cook until the sugar dissolves.

  2. Add the sliced strawberries and thyme sprigs. Bring to the boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes or until thick. Remove thyme, then spoon into sterilised jars and seal.

If you like, add a pinch of spice to turn this into a spiced jam. Recipe makes around 2lb of jam.
