Banana Spring Rolls recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 5 minutes

A sweet twist on the traditional banana fritter recipe, using spring roll wrappers makes for very crisp banana parcels, which are sweet, soft and creamy on the inside, and golden and crisp on the outside.


  • 4 spring roll wrappers
  • 2 small bananas
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. caster sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon


  1. Heat oil in a deep fat fryer to 190C.

  2. Meanwhile, slice the bananas in half lengthways, then thinly slice into half moons. Melt the butter and combine the butter, sugar, cinnamon and bananas in a bowl.

  3. Pile 1/4 of the banana mixture into the centre of each spring roll wrapper, folding the wrapper over the bananas to enclose, tucking in the ends as you go to seal. Seal the edges of the spring rolls with a little water.

  4. Fry the spring rolls in the hot oil for around 2-3 minutes until golden brown on either side. Leave to cool for a little while before serving.

If you like, omit the cinnamon and use ginger instead. Recipe serves 4.
