BBQ Balsamic Mushrooms recipe

Preparation Time: 1 hours | Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Portobello mushrooms are marinated in oil, garlic and balsamic, then BBQed until tender and delicious. Serve in a burger bun, if you like.


  • 4 portobello mushrooms
  • 4 tbsp. oil
  • 4 tbsp. balsamic
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 small red onion
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Mince the garlic and finely dice the red onion. Whisk together the oil, balsamic, garlic, red onion and a pinch of salt and pepper. Add the mushrooms, toss to coat, cover and leave to stand for an hour.

  2. Preheat BBQ to a medium heat or preheat a griddle pan. BBQ or grill for ten minutes, turning two or three times during cooking.

For a different flavour, omit the balsamic and use lemon juice and zest instead. Recipe serves 4.
