This rather cool-looking dish will yield perfectly cooked, moist chicken - cooked with beer for flavour and for texture. Serve this dish at your next BBQ.
- 1 whole chicken
- 1 can beer
- 250g butter
- 2 tbsp. garlic salt
- 2 tbsp. paprika
- Salt and pepper
Preheat BBQ to a low heat. Heat butter over a low heat in a frying pan. Add the garlic salt, paprika and salt and pepper. Discard half the beer from the can.
Use a funnel to put half the butter mixture into the beer can. Place the can on a disposable baking tray. Place the chicken onto the can, inserting the can into the cavity of the chicken. Baste the chicken with the remaining butter mixture.
Place the baking tray onto a BBQ. Close the BBQ lid and cook on a low temperature for 3 hours until the internal temperature of the chicken is at least 80C. If you prefer, do this in an oven for a couple of hours.
