BBQ Beetroot recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Want to prepare beetroot in a totally different way? Throw it on the BBQ! In this simple recipe, beetroot is dotted with butter and garlic, sprinkled with salt and pepper and BBQed until tender and sweet.


  • 6 beetroots
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Scrub the beetroots. Mince the garlic cloves.

  2. Cut out 6 15cm by 15cm squares of foil. Oil each piece of foil, place a beetroot onto each and sprinkle each with garlic, salt, pepper and some dots of butter. Scrunch the foil around each beet and place onto a medium BBQ.

  3. Cook for 30 minutes or until the beets are tender.

If it's not BBQ weather, simply pop your beetroot parcels into the oven instead. Recipe serves 3-4.
