BBQ Pears with Blue Cheese recipe

Make the most of the sunny weather with this deliciously different pear dish. Whole pears are seasoned with salt and pepper, BBQed until tender and then stuffed with a lovely mix of blue cheese and butter.


  • 4 pears
  • 4 tbsp. blue cheese
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil


  1. Slice the pears in half and scoop out the core using a teaspoon. Preheat the BBQ to a medium heat.

  2. Brush the pears with the oil and season with salt and pepper. BBQ, skin side down for 5-6 minutes.

  3. Turn the pears over. Stir together the cheese, butter and a little pepper. Stuff into the cavity of the pears and BBQ for 5-6 more minutes or until golden, tender and the cheese melted.

If you like, garnish these pears with some freshly chopped nuts and herbs. Recipe serves 4.
