This tasty stir fry contains loads of big flavours as well as lots of fresh broccoli. If you can find it, use purple sprouting broccoli, as it's absolutely delicious.
- 450g lean beef, cut into thin strips
- 300ml beef stock
- 350g fresh broccoli
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tsp. fresh chopped ginger
- 4 tbsp. plain flour
- 2 tbsp. caster sugar
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- Few tbsp. sunflower oil
Mince the garlic clove. Cut the broccoli into small florets.
Mix together the flour, sugar, soy sauce and stock in a small bowl. Stir until the sugar and flour are dissolved.
Heat the oil in the wok until hot and then stir fry the beef strips for two or three minutes. Add the ginger, garlic and broccoli. Stir in the stock mixture and then bring the whole thing to the boil.
Simmer the dish for 5 to 10 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
Serve this dish hot.
