These slightly sweet rolls are flavoured with dark beer, cinnamon, brown sugar and honey. Perfect for spreading with jam or curds, or for using in bread puddings. They're also delicious just served warm as they are spread with butter.
- 285ml dark beer
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. runny honey
- 1/4 tsp. each ground cinnamon and salt
- 540g bread flour
- 7g dried active baking yeast
- 2 tbsp. melted butter
Open the beer and let it come to room temperature and turn flat.
Combine beer, butter, sugar, honey, cinnamon, salt, flour and yeast in the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Dough cycle. Once the dough has risen, remove from the machine and form into a long loaf shape.
Cut the loaf into 16 and form each blob into a roll. Place onto floured baking trays, cover loosely, then leave to rise for 45 minutes.
Brush rolls with melted butter, then bake at 180C for 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
