This white pizza is actually my favourite type of pizza - and this pizza is traditionally eaten at breakfast or early in the day. It can also be eaten at lunch instead of a more traditional pizza. I give you two variations of the white pizza below.
- 4 plain pizza bases
- 8 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 8 tsp. freshly chopped rosemary leaves
- 4 tbsp. sea salt or rock salt
- 20 slices prosciutto ham
- 600g stracchino cheese or goat's cheese
- Rocket leaves
Preheat the oven to 220C. Pinch round the edges of the pizza bases to form a ridge to retain the filling. Drizzle the pizza bases with olive oil and sprinkle with rosemary and sea salt. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
Sometimes, white pizza is topped with cheese, cheese and ham or cheese ham and rocket. My personal favourite is cheese and ham. Simply prepare the pizza as above, but don't put it into the oven; top with prosciutto and cheese and bake for 10-12 minutes. If serving with rocket, sprinkle rocket leaves over the top of the pizza before serving.
