Bonfire Apples recipe

This recipe is very simple and is a really fun way to make use of the bonfire during Guy Fawkes Night. Make sure that if you’re doing this recipe with children they are always supervised and if they're very small, cook their apples for them. You could also do this recipe using a BBQ if it’s the wrong time of year for a bonfire.

Ingredients

  • 1 apple, cored
  • 1 tbsp. dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 large square foil

Directions

  1. Mix the sugar with the cinnamon and put it into the cored apple.

  2. Place the apple on the foil and wrap it well. Twist the ends of the foil to form a handle for moving the apple.

  3. Put the covered apple onto the coals of a bonfire or BBQ for 5-10 minutes, until the apple is soft.

Be careful of the hot sugar when opening the foil and take extra care when moving the apple from the coals. This makes one bonfire apple but you could easily duplicate the recipe.
