Brazilian Hot Chocolate recipe

Hot chocolate is made with condensed milk, cocoa powder, cornflour and a smidgen of ground cinnamon in this delicious Brazilian twist on the classic.


  • 1 litre whole milk
  • 1 x 400g tin condensed milk
  • 4 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp. cornflour
  • Whipped cream
  • Sprinkling of cinnamon


  1. Combine milk and condensed milk in a blender and whiz until smooth. Add cocoa powder and cornflour and beat until smooth, then transfer to a pan and heat through until warm and thickened.

  2. To serve, top with whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon.

If you don't like cinnamon, leave it out, but it's beautifully warming. Recipe serves 6.
