Breakfast Couscous recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

A yummy and filling alternative to porridge, in this recipe, couscous is cooked in milk and honey and served with some chopped dried fruit and flaked almonds. It's so yummy you could actually serve it as dessert with a little ice cream!


  • 350g couscous
  • 500ml whole milk
  • 2 tbsp. runny honey
  • 1 tbsp. ground cinnamomn
  • 50g chopped dried apricots
  • 50g dried cranberries
  • 75g flaked almonds


1. Combine milk, honey and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to the boil, then turn off the heat and pour over the couscous. Stir, cover and leave to sit for 10 minutes or until fluffed up. To serve, stir in the apricots, cranberries and almonds. Serve warm.

You could use skim milk if you're watching your calorie intake, or for a richer flavour, use half milk half cream. Recipe serves 6.
