Challah is a Jewish loaf that's traditionally plaited, but you can also make it easily in the bread machine for a similar texture and flavour. If you like, make the dough in the bread machine, then plait it and bake it in the oven.
- 175ml semi-skimmed milk
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 380g bread flour
- 4 tbsp. caster sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried active baking yeast
