This cheat's beef stroganoff makes use of some storecupboard staples to create a creamy, delicious stroganoff that's perfect for a family dinner. Serve spooned over pasta or rice.
- 600g stewing steak
- 1 x 400g tin condensed mushroom soup
- 200ml white wine
- 200g mushrooms, sliced thickly
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 150g garlic and herb cream cheese
Put the steak, soup, wine, mushrooms, onions and Worcestershire sauce in a slow cooker and stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, or until the steak is tender.
An hour before the end of cooking time, stir in the cream cheese until dissolved.
