Zingy Chilli Swordfish recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Swordfish is basted with a zingy chilli sauce on the grill, resulting in a wonderfully spicy, zingy, zesty fish dish with a delicious charred flavour in this recipe. Serve with ciabatta rolls or a big salad.

  • 1kg swordfish steaks
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 250ml tomato chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • Oil
  • Lemon wedges

  1. Finely chop the onion and garlic. Heat a little oil in a large saucepan and add the onion and garlic. Cook over a low heat until soft and translucent.

  2. Add the tomato sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and black pepper. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes.

  3. Preheat a griddle pan over a medium heat and brush the steaks with oil. Grill, basting with the chilli sauce, for 4-5 minutes on either side or until flaking. Boil any leftover sauce and serve on the side with the lemon wedges.

For extra zing, add lemon juice or zest to the sauce. Recipe serves 6.
