Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 15 minutes

This simple stir fry, flavoured with fresh zesty ginger is a great recipe to have in your arsenal if you've only got half an hour to spare to cook dinner. It's fresh, zesty, rich in flavour and nutritious, too.

  • 450g beef steak
  • 350g fresh broccoli
  • 300ml beef stock
  • 4 tbsp. plain flour
  • 2 tbsp. caster sugar
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 small knob of root ginger
  • 1 tbsp. oil

  1. Mince the garlic cloves and mince the root ginger. Thinly slice the beef steaks into strips. Chop the broccoli into florets.

  2. Stir together the beef stock, plain flour, sugar and soy sauce until smooth. Heat the oil in a heavy wok. Fry the beef steak for 4-5 minutes until golden.

  3. Stir the stock into the beef. Add the broccoli, garlic and ginger. Stir to combine. Bring to the boil and then reduce to a simmer and cook for 5-10 minutes, until the broccoli is tender and the sauce thick.

If you like, add a little fresh chilli to the stir fry to give it some extra bite. Recipe serves 2.
