Salty, sweety, savoury and meaty, this delicious duck dish is super simple to prepare. Duck legs are marinated for a day, then baked until crisp, golden and tender. Serve with a crisp salad.
- 4 duck legs
- 4 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tbsp. Chinese five-spice powder
- 1 tbsp. whole star anise pods
- 1/2 stick cinnamon
Place the duck legs in a bag. Sprinkle with Chinese five-spice, star anise, cinnamon, soy sauce and the olive oil. Massage the duck to disperse all the flavours. Seal and leave in the fridge for 1 day.
Remove the duck from the marinade, place into a baking tray and let it come to room temperature. Preheat oven to 170C and bake for 1 1/2 - 2 hours or until the meat falls off of the bone.
