Chocolate and banana sarnies are dipped in beaten egg, cream and maple syrup, then fried in butter until crisp. Perfect for lazy weekends or for an indulgent suppertime snack.
- 4 slices large white crusty bread
- 75g milk chocolate
- 1 large banana, ripe
- 25g melted butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tbsp. cream
- 1 tbsp. maple syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Beat together eggs, cream, syrup and vanilla. Finely chop the chocolate and banana and mix together, then spread half of the mix evenly over 2 slices of bread. Sandwich with the other slices of bread.
Heat butter in a frying pan. Dip the sandwiches into the egg mixture, making sure that it is evenly coated on all sides.
Put the sandwiches into the frying pan and fry for 2 minutes, pressing down with a fish slice. Flip and fry for another 1-2 minutes, pressing down with the fish slice.
