Chocolate Biscuits recipe

Preparation Time: 15 minutes | Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Simple, short and crumbly, these delectable choccy biscuits will taste just wonderful with your afternoon cup of tea or coffee! They're very easy to make, too.

Ingredients

  • 200g self-raising flour, or 200g plain flour + 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 250g salted butter (it seasons the chocolate, although you can use unsalted if you prefer)
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 45g cocoa powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 170C and grease two baking sheets.

  2. In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Sift in the flour and cocoa and stir in gently until you have a smooth biscuit dough. Roll the mix into balls, place onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving lots of space in between and then press them down with a fork.

  3. Bake for 5 minutes, then turn the oven down to 150C and bake for a further 10-12 minutes, or until cooked to your liking! Eat warm from the oven or when cool.

If you like, spread a bit of icing on top for extra chocolate flavour! Recipe makes approximately 16.
