Thick, rich, chocolatey and fudgey. What could be better? The perfect ice cream topping, or just keep it in your fridge for whenever you want a sweet treat.
- 150g dark chocolate
- 600g caster sugar
- 125g butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 400g evaporated milk
Put the chocolate, butter and salt in a bowl and suspend it over a pan of barely simmering water. Heat until melted and stir.
Add the sugar 100g at a time, making sure it is dissolved before adding any more.
Gradually add the evaporated milk a little bit at a time, stirring well after each addition. Once combined, serve warm over homemade ice cream.
