Chocolate and Hazelnut Banana Crepes recipe

Preparation Time: 30 minutes | Cooking Time: 20 minutes

These fancy crepes might sound like they're tricky to make but in reality, they're actually fairly simple. A chocolate hazelnut crepe is topped with a chocolate hazelnut sauce and sliced banana - delicious!

  • 5 tbsp. plain flour
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp. icing sugar
  • 2 tsp. hazelnut liquor
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 125ml milk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 tbsp. icing sugar
  • 1 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp. hazelnut liquor
  • 1/2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • 2 bananas, sliced

  1. Whisk together the hazelnut liquor, vanilla, egg yolk, milk and melted butter. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and icing sugar and stir until smooth.

  2. To make the sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan over a low heat. Add the milk and the hazelnut liquor, then stir in the sugar and cocoa powder until smooth. Keep warm while you make the pancakes.

  3. To make the crepes, grease a large frying pan. Pour around 60ml of the batter into the pan and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the crepe is loose around the edges, then flip over and cook for a minute or so on the other side.

  4. To serve, put a few slices of banana onto each crepe and drizzle with the chocolate sauce.

Don't like banana? Put some orange segments onto the crepe instead. Recipe serves 4.
