Make deliciously sinful chocolate ice cream from the comfort of your own home with this wonderful recipe. A quick custard is frozen in your ice cream maker, then churned with extra chocolate chunks!
- 300ml double cream
- 300ml full fat milk
- 6 tbsp. cocoa powder
- 125g caster sugar
- 3 large egg yolks
- 50g dark chocolate or milk, chopped into chunks
- Pinch of salt
Mix the sugar and cocoa in a bowl. Beat in the egg yolks with an electric mixer 1-2 minutes until pale and fluffy.
Gradually beat in the cream and milk, along with the salt. Once smooth, cover with cling and chill in the fridge. Once cool, pour into the ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturers instructions. Add chocolate chunks for the last couple of minutes of chilling.
