Chocolate Nutty Fudge recipe

Smooth and delicious, with a crunchy walnut filling, this chocolatey fudge is perfect for parties or for wrapping in cellophane and tieing with ribbon, making it a great gift. It's not fudge in the strictest sense, but it's yummy!


  • 175g plain chocolate
  • 125g butter
  • 100g marshmallows
  • 400g caster sugar
  • 150ml evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 125g chopped walnuts


  1. Grease a 20cm square dish.

  2. Crack the chocolate into squares and place into a bowl with the chocolate, butter and vanilla. In a saucepan, place the marshmallows, sugar and milk. Bring to the boil, stirring often, and then reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 6-7 minutes, then take off the heat.

  3. Pour the mix over the chocolate and butter and stir until you have a smooth mix. Fold in the walnuts and then turn into the greased dish. Flatten the top, then put into the fridge and leave to chill until firm.

If you like, add different nuts, broken biscuits or chocolate chunks to the fudge. Recipe makes 36 squares.
