Chocolate Chip Orange Scones recipe

These scones are sweet and are a lovely treat.

  • 225g plain flour
  • 5 tbsp. caster sugar
  • 5 tbsp. butter
  • 100g milk chocolate chips
  • 4 tbsp. orange juice
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C and grease and line a baking tray.

  2. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in the sugar.

  3. Cut the butter into the mixture using two knives or a fork until it resembles breadcrumbs.

  4. Stir the chocolate chips into the mixture and then pour in the orange juice.

  5. Stir until everything comes together and you get a smooth dough.

  6. Pat the dough into a circle that’s around 3cm thick and then cut out scones from the dough.

  7. Place the scones onto the baking tray and bake them for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

This recipe makes 12 scones, which is around 6 servings. You could use white chocolate chips in this recipe with raspberry juice for an entirely different, but still delicious flavour.
