Chorizo Brussels Sprouts recipe

Preparation Time: 20 minutes | Cooking Time: 25 minutes

This dish is easy peasy to make but it's truly, truly delicious and perfect for serving instead of something more traditional like cabbage and bacon. Chorizo, shallots and sprouts fry together in butter until tender and delicious.


  • 100g chorizo
  • 500g Brussels sprouts
  • 2 shallots
  • 50g butter


  1. Finely dice the shallots and cube the chorizo. Remove the outer leaves from the sprouts and shred finely.

  2. Heat a frying pan over a medium heat and add the chorizo. Fry for a minute or two until it starts to release oils, then add the butter and shallots. Fry for a minute or two until starting to soften and then add the shredded sprouts.

  3. Fry the sprouts for 10-12 minutes or until golden and tender, stirring often.

For an extra hit of flavour, add a little paprika and garlic to the recipe. This dish serves 4.
