Condensed Milk Cake recipe

Preparation Time: 15 minutes | Cooking Time: 40 minutes

A classic sponge cake made with condensed milk for a sweet, rich texture, this is a classic Brazilian recipe that is perfect warm from the oven with custard or sliced and spread with jam or chocolate icing.


  • 250g plain flour
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 1 x 400g tin condensed milk
  • 1 x tin of normal milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 30g butter
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C and grease and flour a 23cm cake tin.

  2. Blend the condensed milk, milk, eggs and butter, then add the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Blend until combined. Pour into the cake tin, then bake for 40 minutes.

If you like, you could use a tin of dulce de leche instead of condensed milk to give the cake a toffee flavour. Recipe serves 8.
