Crab-Topped Sea Bass recipe

This is a wonderful dish for any dinner party to wow your guests. Serve with roasted new potatoes and some seasonal roast veg for an elegant dinner. It's also incredibly easy.


  • 4 fillets of sea bass
  • 170g tin crab meat
  • 60g butter
  • 50g grated mozzarella
  • ½ red pepper
  • ½ yellow pepper
  • 3 spring onions
  • 1 ½ tbsp. breadcrumbs
  • ½ tbsp. grated Parmesan
  • ½ jalapeno chilli, deseeded and chopped


  1. Finely chop the red and yellow pepper. Finely chop the spring onions, and the chilli.

  2. In a large bowl, mix the crab meat, butter, Parmesan and mozzarella, red pepper, yellow pepper, spring onions, chilli and breadcrumbs.

  3. Put the fish in a buttered baking dish.

  4. Top the fish with the crab mixture, spreading evenly so it covers the whole of the top of the fillet.

  5. Cook for 25 minutes in the oven and serve hot.
