Cream Cheese Icing recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

This decadent cream cheese icing is made with cream cheese, butter and sugar - it's beautifully soft and is sweet and slightly salty at the same time. Perfect on carrot cupcakes.


  • 200g icing sugar
  • 75g butter
  • 6 tbsp. cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp. double cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract


  1. Beat together the cream cheese and butter until softened and thoroughly combined.

  2. Beat in the icing sugar until combined. Beat in the double cream and vanilla and keep beating until you reach the desired consistency. Use to ice the cupcakes.

You can add a pinch of spice to this icing if you're going to use it to ice carrot cupcakes or spiced cupcakes - ginger and cinnamon work really well. Recipe ices 12 cupcakes.
