Creme de Abacate recipe

Creme de abacate - or cream of avocado - is a sweet, creamy Brazilian dessert made of avocado. It might sound a little bit odd, but it's really very yummy.


  • 2 very ripe avocadoes
  • 225g best quality vanilla ice cream
  • Milk as needed
  • 1 tsp. lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. caster sugar or more to taste


  1. Slice the avocadoes round the middle then remove the stones. Scoop out the flesh with a spoon.

  2. Put all ingredients into a blender and whiz until smooth and with a creamy texture. Serve immediately.

For extra zest, add more lime juice. Recipe serves 4.
