Devilled Portobello Mushrooms recipe

Preparation Time: 30 minutes | Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Mushrooms are marinated in wholegrain mustard, Worcestershire sauce and garlic in this recipe, then baked in the oven until tender. Serve with crusty French bread to mop up all the juices.


  • 8 portobello mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 tbsp. wholegrain mustard
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • Pinch black pepper


  1. Remove the stalks from the mushrooms. Whisk together the oil, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and paprika. Pour over the mushrooms, toss to coat, then leave to sit for at least half an hour.

  2. Put the mushrooms into a baking tray and sprinkle evenly with paprika. Bake at 180C for 8-10 minutes or until tender.

You can use Dijon mustard if you don't have any wholegrain. Recipe serves 4.
