This garlicky broccoli dish is cooked with sesame oil, sesame seeds and five garlic cloves to really ramp up the flavour of the humble purple sprouting broccoli. A fantastic side dish that works really well with Asian chicken dishes.
- 450g purple sprouting broccoli
- 2 tbsp. veg oil
- 2 tbsp. toasted sesame oil
- 5 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds
Trim the broccoli. Bring a pot of salted water to the boil. Drop in the broccoli and simmer for 2-3 minutes or until tender. Drain well.
Heat the veg oil and sesame oil together in a large frying pan. Add the garlic and fry for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the broccoli and toss in the garlicky oil for 2-3 minutes or until the broccoli is well coated and cooked through.
To serve, sprinkle evenly with the sesame seeds.
