Five Ingredient Ice Cream recipe

This ice cream is super rich and super creamy, perfect for kids - it can be made in the freezer without an ice cream maker and all you have to do is mix everything together. Add the flavourings of your choice - crushed nuts and chopped biscuits are a yummy addition.


  • 475ml double cream
  • 400g condensed milk
  • 125ml full fat milk
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla essence or extract
  • Pinch salt


  1. Combine condensed milk, milk, vanilla and salt together in a large bowl. In another bowl, beat the cream until nearly stiff peaks form. Don't overwhisk the cream as it'll turn into butter - it should just hold its shape. Gently fold the cream into the milk mixture.

  2. Pour the mixture into a freezer-proof container and cover. Freeze for four hours, stirring after two. Take the container out of the freezer for 15 minutes before serving.

If you do want to add anything to the ice cream, stir it in whilst the ice cream is soft but not totally frozen. Recipe serves 8.
