Frango Churrasco (Garlic and Lemon Grilled Chicken) recipe

Preparation Time: 2 hours | Cooking Time: 20 minutes

This delicious fragrant chicken dish is perfect for BBQs - serve with a big side salad and some crunchy garlic potatoes.


  • 900g boneless chicken thighs
  • Zest and juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • 1 tbsp. piri piri sauce
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. finely chopped coriander


  1. Put the chicken in a non-metallic bowl with the lemon zest and juice, paprika, piri piri sauce, brown sugar, garlic, olive oil and coriander. Toss to combine, cover with cling and marinate for 2 hours.

  2. To cool, either griddle on a hot griddle pan, BBQ, or grill until charred on the outside and no longer pink in the middle.

For extra spice, add a little chilli powder. Recipe serves 6.
