These are chock-full of fruit and absolutely delicious. The use of honey instead of golden syrup makes them very sweet, but really yummy.
- 400g porridge oats
- 200g dark brown sugar
- 200g honey
- 200g unsalted butter
- 50g chopped dried fruit
Preheat the oven to 180C/gas mark 4.
Line and grease the insides of a 20cm by 30cm cake tin.
Heat the butter, sugar and honey together until the sugar is fully dissolved. Mix the fruits in at this stage and then take them off the heat.
Add the porridge oats to this mixture and mix together thoroughly.
Tip into the cake tin and press down thoroughly so the mixture is packed down well.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. They should be golden round the edges yet still slightly soft in the centre.
Leave to cool and then serve.
