This tasty gammon recipe combines gammon fried in honey with a spicy pineapple salsa. If you have any salsa left over, serve it on crackers or in a noodle salad the following day.
- 2 gammon steaks
- 1 tbsp. runny honey
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 fresh pineapple
- 1 fat red chilli
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- Small handful freshly chopped coriander
Peel, core and finely dice the pineapple. De-seed the chilli and chop. Mix with the pineapple, soy sauce, brown sugar and chopped coriander. Set to one side for the flavours to combine.
Heat the grill until hot and brush the honey and oil onto the gammon steaks.
Grill for three or four minutes on each side.
Serve the salsa spooned over the top of the gammon steaks.
