In this easy dish, broccoli is steamed, then topped with buttery garlic and chilli breadcrumbs. Perfect with chicken or roast meats.
- 500g broccoli
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 50g breadcrumbs
- 1 red chilli
- 2 garlic cloves
Cut the broccoli into florets. Slice the chilli in half, scoop out the seeds then finely dice. Finely mince the garlic cloves.
Heat the oil and butter together in a frying pan. Add the chilli and garlic and fry for two minutes, then add the breadcrumbs and fry for 5 minutes or so or until golden and crisp. Meanwhile, steam the broccoli for 5 minutes or until tender.
Season the broccoli with salt and pepper, then sprinkle with the breadcrumbs.
