Garlic and Herb Spiced Prawns recipe

Preparation Time: 2 hours | Cooking Time: 10 minutes

This easy marinated prawn dish is perfect for a dinner party starter, as all you need to do is throw the ingredients together, leave them to marinate for a few hours, then quickly griddle until cooked. Prawns are marinated in olive oil, garlic, choves and paprika - easy!


  • 1kg fresh king prawns, peeled, deveined
  • 75g butter
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. freshly chopped chives
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. sweet paprika
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Soften the butter in a large bowl. Add the prawns, oil, chives, garlic, onion, papika, salt and pepper and stir to combine. Cover and leave in the fridge for a couple of hours.

  2. When you're ready to cook, heat a griddle pan over a medium heat. Add the prawns and fry on either side for 1-2 minutes or until pink.

For a little extra heat, add a 1 tbsp. finely chopped fresh red chilli to the marinade. Recipe serves 6.
