A delightful way to prepare fresh artichokes, in this recipe, artichokes are steamed with butter and garlic until tender. Simple! Serve them with roast chicken, a squeeze of lemon juice and an extra drizzle of melted butter.
- 2 artichokes
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 garlic cloves
- Salt and pepper
Thinly slice the garlic cloves. Bring a pan of water to the boil.
While the water is boiling, Discard the woody stems and outer leaves of the artichokes. Tuck garlic slices into the artichoke leaves and dot with butter. Season and place into a steamer insert stem side down. Place the steamer insert over the saucepan.
Cover and steam for 20 minutes until tender.
