Garlicky Runner Beans with Parmesan recipe

Runner beans are fried off with plenty of garlic, salt and pepper in this delicious recipe, then topped with a good handful of grated parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 800g runner beans, trimmed and sliced
  • 1 medium head garlic, peeled and sliced
  • 30g butter
  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • Good pinch each salt and black pepper
  • Good handful freshly grated parmesan

Directions

  1. Melt butter and oil together in a large frying pan. Add the garlic and fry for 2-3 minute over a low heat until lightly golden, then add the beans and fry for 8-10 minutes or until tender - keep your eye on them and stir often to make sure that the garlic doesn't burn.

  2. Season the beans really well with salt and pepper. To serve, sprinkle with parmesan.

For a salty flavour, add some fried smoked bacon lardons to the beans. Recipe serves 6.
