Sweet, sticky and ever-so-tasty, this easy-peasy hoisin duck recipe is perfect for a dinner party. Serve with a crisp green salad to cut through the richness of the duck.
- 2 duck breasts
- 6 tbsp. hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp. Chinese-five spice
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds
- Oil to fry
Score the skin of the duck. Mix the hoisin, soy and five-spice together. Pour over the duck, rub into the flesh and leave to marinate for 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a frying pan. Remove excess marinade from the duck, then put skin side down in the pan. Fry for 5-7 minutes or until crisp, then flip, turn down to medium and cook for 10 minutes, or until cooked to your liking. Brush the duck with the rest of the marinade while cooking.
To serve, slice the duck breasts on the diagonal. Scatter with the sesame seeds.
