Greek Lemon Chicken recipe

Preparation Time: 1 hours | Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Chicken is marinated in Greek olive oil and lemon juice, then fried until golden and tender in this easy yet effective recipe.


  • 4 chicken pieces
  • 125ml Greek olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. each black pepper and dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • Oil to fry


  1. Combine olive oil, lemon juice, pepper, oregano, salt, cinnamon and poultry seasoning in a large non metallic bowl. Add the chicken, toss to coat and leave to sit for an hour.

  2. To cook, heat extra olive oil in a frying pan and add the chicken pieces. Fry on either side for 10-20 minutes or until golden brown and no longer pink in the middle.

For extra fresh flavour, serve this chicken with fresh lemon wedges on the side. Recipe serves 4.
