Italian Cola Burgers recipe

Preparation Time: 15 minutes | Cooking Time: 20 minutes

This recipe sounds super weird, but the secret ingredient - cola - lends a bit of sweetness and helps to keep the burgers nice and moist. Serve with soft white rolls.

  • 675g minced steak
  • 125ml cola
  • 1 egg
  • 35g Italian breadcrumbs
  • 6 tbsp. Italian salad dressing
  • 2 tbsp. grated parmesan
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper

  1. Mix together the egg, half the cola, the breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp. salad dressing, parmesan, black pepper and minced steak. Use your hands to ensure that all of the ingredients are properly combined.

  2. Form the mixture into 6 burgers. Combine the remaining dressing and cola in a bowl.

  3. Grill the burgers on either side to form a crust - around 1-2 minutes. Brush with the dressing and cola mixture. BBQ the burgers (or continue grilling or fry) for a further 4-5 minutes either side, brushing regularly with the dressing and cola mixture.

This recipe would also work with pork, as the cola works really well with the sweetness of the meat. Recipe serves 6.
