Lemon and Oregano Halloumi Fingers recipe

Halloumi cheese is sliced into fingers, then fried and sprinkled with lemon juice, dried oregano and a pinch of black pepper in this easy dish. Serve with a large salad, olives and some grilled chicken for a delicious meal.


  • 175g halloumi
  • 1/2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper


  1. Slice the halloumi into thick fingers. Heat the oil in a frying pan, then add the halloumi and fry on either side for 1-2 minutes or until a golden crust forms on the cheese.

  2. Tip onto a large platter and whilst still hot from the pan, sprinkle with lemon, thyme and black pepper.

If you prefer, cook the halloumi, then add the rest of the ingredients with a little oil and chill. Serve as a salad. Recipe serves 2.
