Lemon Potted Crab recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Potted crab is a favourite food of many and this simple dish of lemon flavoured potted crab will become a firm favourite in your home. Serve with buttered triangles of brown bread and a green salad.


  • 400g crab meat
  • Zest and juice of 1/2 a lemon
  • 300g butter
  • Pinch each cayenne pepper and salt
  • 8 small parsley sprigs


  1. In a bowl, combine the crab, lemon zest, lemon juice, cayenne pepper and salt. Press into 8 small ramekins.

  2. Melt the butter until runny, then pour over the crab so that it is completely covered with butter. Leave to set in the fridge before serving.

This crab dish will keep for up to two days in the fridge, making it an excellent choice as a dinner party starter. Recipe serves 8.
