Mango and Avocado Salad recipe

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

The creaminess of the avocado works really well against the sweet, tartness of the mango in this recipe, and the curry powder adds a bit of heat. Serve this salad in pittas or as a side dish to grilled chicken.


  • 4 mangoes
  • 4 avocados
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 1 tsp. curry powder
  • Salt and pepper


1. Peel, stone and dice the mangoes and avocados. Finely dice the red onion. Combine the mangoes, avocados, onion, lime juice, curry powder and salt and pepper in a bowl. Cover and leave to chill for a couple of hours before serving.

I sometimes like to omit the curry powder and add some red chilli to this salad for extra freshness. Recipe serves 8.
